Confirm a Weld County Jail Release

Use the Daily Inmate Released Report first when the person was booked into the Weld County Jail. Search by the exact release date if it is known. If not, search by last name and first name. Common names require care because the report includes date of birth, gender, arresting agency, and booking number. A matching name alone is not enough when several people share a surname.

The records page says requests for patrol, administration, inmate, and inmate medical records go through the Records Division. The release-of-records form includes Weld County Jail "Records of incarceration," which is the right category for a jail release record tied to a booking.

Requests can be routed through the Weld sheriff JustFOIA portal, by fax, by mail, or in person. Include the person's name, date of birth, booking number if known, arrest date, release date, and the specific record requested. The records form cites C.R.S. 24-72-305.5 and includes an affirmation, so the request should be written as a records request rather than an informal custody question.

Weld County Jail Caveats

Weld County's release report is useful because it is searchable past the seven visible date links. The visible daily links are navigation, not the full retention limit. The report's own scope statement says results begin June 17, 2022. If a release took place before that date, or if a name search fails because of spelling, alias, or data-entry issues, the Records Unit is the more durable route.

State and federal transfers need separate systems. A Weld County entry that shows transport may point to CDOC for a state sentence, BOP for a federal sentence, ICE for immigration custody, another county, or a court-directed placement.
