Colorado Parole Release Path

The Colorado State Board of Parole and CDOC Adult Parole handle state-prison release supervision. For a Weld County case, that path begins when the court imposes a DOC sentence and the person enters the state prison system. The Weld County Jail release report may show transport to DOC, but the parole decision and parole release are state records. Parole is not the same as probation, and it is not the same as full discharge.

CDOC's Offender Search includes a "Par. Board" tab at the parole-board list route. Research found that this tab is the public path for parole-board month or list information. The exact outcome labels should be read from the live CDOC interface, but general parole-board outcomes can include grant, denial, deferment, file review, rescission, revocation, or mandatory-release-related action. A hearing does not guarantee release.

Confirm Weld Parole Status

Start with CDOC Offender Search for any person sentenced to state prison. Search by DOC number if known, or by name and gender. Open the matching record and read current status, parole fields, facility information, and any parole-board data. Use the parole-board tab when a hearing date, board action, or month list is relevant. Then check local court records if the question involves the original Weld County sentence.

3. Check Weld County court records for sentence, mittimus, later orders, or warrants.
4. Use Adult Parole or C-WISE-style state contacts for officer routing when appropriate.

The screenshot is useful for showing that parole-board activity lives inside CDOC's public system, not in Weld County's jail release report.

Colorado Parole Contacts

Parole records are state records. The research identified the Colorado State Board of Parole and CDOC Adult Parole as the controlling state route. It also noted a Greeley parole-office result at 3257 W 20th St. with phone 970-356-0839, but that address came from a map result rather than a CDOC page reachable during research. Treat it as a navigation aid and verify through CDOC, the parole officer, or the state contact system before relying on it.

Probation is included here only as a contrast. Probation is a court sentence handled by the 19th Judicial District. Parole follows state prison. A person released from Weld County Jail on bond has not become a parolee just because they left custody.

About Colorado Parole

Colorado parole release timing is controlled by state law, time computation, and parole-board action. C.R.S. 17-22.5-403 governs parole eligibility for many sentences. C.R.S. 17-22.5-405 covers earned time. C.R.S. 17-22.5-303.3 includes listed violent-offender parole eligibility rules, including the 85 percent rule for listed crimes committed on or after January 1, 2025. Eligibility is a point of consideration, not a promise.

For Weld County, the local wrinkle is the DOC transfer backlog. The sheriff reported in 2025 that DOC-sentenced inmates could remain in county jail pending transfer, with a local cost gap between the sheriff's reported daily jail cost and state reimbursement. That means a person may be sentenced to DOC but still physically held in the county jail for a time. Parole timing belongs to the state sentence, not to the jail booking alone.

Weld Parole Caveats

Use local Weld warrants only for local warrant questions. Weld County publishes active warrants and a Most Wanted page, but those are not a statewide parole absconder database. A parole absconder or parole warrant issue should be checked through CDOC and parole channels. A local warrant after release may also appear in the Weld County court or sheriff warrant source.

Community corrections can sit between prison and parole. ICCS Weld is the named local provider, and transition residents may be referred by DOC before sentence discharge, parole, or intensive supervision. That makes a person appear "released" from a prison setting while still subject to residential placement or supervision rules.

Note: Parole means post-prison supervision, not full release from all state sentence control.

Weld Parole Record Chain

A parole check should begin with CDOC, then branch based on what the state record shows. If CDOC shows an upcoming parole-board event, use the Par. Board tab and any official record route for the hearing month or result. If CDOC shows release to parole, Adult Parole is the supervision route. If CDOC shows discharge, the state sentence may have ended, but the original Weld County court file can still be useful for understanding the sentence and any later local orders.

Weld probation remains separate. The 19th Judicial District Probation Department serves all Weld County communities and has offices in Greeley and Fort Lupton. That local probation route matters when the court ordered probation or a jail release into probation. It does not verify a parole release from state prison. Keeping parole and probation separate prevents a county jail release, a prison parole, and a court-supervised sentence from being blended into one unclear status.
